I am familiar with Best of Show and their new location. I have dealt with them and and Joe Carroll before. He is a honest good guy that accurately represents their cars. Relative to this car I have spoken with two previous owners, both who raced max Wedges in the early 60's. This car is the real deal and very rare. I just don't have the room for it without selling something and now is not the time to sell, particularly if you have something special with bulletproof documentation. I would buy the Max Wedge in a heartbeat if I could make room for it.

Norm, I have to respectfully disagree. 150K prices are long gone. I spoke with a collector friend who has an aluminum front end Max Wedge, and I confirmed his opinion with another long time collector. Their opinion is the car is worth 65-80K with 80K being all the money today. The Polara 500 was not even available with the aluminum front end which would raise the value. Gorgeous car though.

After much more research I stand corrected. I have to agree with Norm and this car has race history.

Hey guys, I just want to add my two cents worth on Best of Show and Joe Carrol. I bought a hemi car from Joe and I can tell you he was honest and first class. I would not hesitate to deal with him again. Now he isn't giving away any of these cars but what I bought was rare, rare, rare.I felt I got a fair price for what I was getting. Of course I am not looking to dump this car after a couple of years. I really like what I bought and am going to keep it. Best regards to all.

I couldn't agree more. Joe Carroll is a great guy and sells awesome cars. I could not walk away from the Onyx Black 1963 Dodge Polara 500 Max Wedge. I bought it! Unbelievable restored, documented car. I also bought my Chevelle LS6 from Joe 4 years ago and have yet to see another one as original or well documented.

Thanks for your response. If you know chevelles please look in the SuperCar/MuscleCar Discussion thread. I am thinking about buying a one owner 66 Chevelle SS and had a couple questions. Thanks in advance.

While he may be honest, the person who writes is ad copy is prone to puffery. Reminds me of a "car salesman" in the truest sense of the word.
