There is a MAN-O-RED one in Missouri, pulled from a dairy farm in WI.
Quite a large number of Stingers were sold, the Supercar Registry has several numbers and Cunneen had a rather lengthy list. In 1971 Yenko's dealer network was over 60 dealers. I do not believe Yenko sold any turbos. Though listed in the catalog, according to orignal paperwork, first there was problems with the EPA, not only with intalling them on the cars but even selling the turbo kit seperate, and Yenko was having problems with Schwitzer, the company chosen to supply the turbo kit. The Yenko/Schwitzer turbo had a special ID tag attached, with 001 the only one known to exist. The basic Stinger package included, besides what was in the GT package, 1. anti-hop bars, 2. front Stinger air dam 3. rear Stinger hood spoiler 4. Yenko custom finned aluminum valve cover 5. matt black shadow styling on hood, taillight panel and headlight area 6. Stinger side striping and metal Yenko emblems. Many more addons could be found in Yenk's catalog.

Yenko did a COPO on the Vegas for special HD (turbo) pistons and also had a bunch of aftermarket parts made for them.
He may have had other items in the COPO but that is the only special item I have heard of. There were at least 2 Yenko Turbo Stinger Vegas built. They were both road tested in magazines with B&W pictures (one was a dark color the other was a light color). Yenko promoted the Vegas through his hi po dealer network where they would install the turbo kit on one to demo the car. At least one dealer did this. The 1973 raffle car was promoted as a Yenko Turbo Stinger Vega and had the Turbo decal installed in the pictures but not the turbo. I was told that the winner was given the option to have the turbo installed or to get a rebate check and the winning young couple took the check. |
