Default Re: NHRA under investigation by the IRS.

I read the actual complaint, interesting to say the least.

The comparatives on how/why the NHRA qualifies for 501(c)status (not-for-profit, ie; tax exempt status) vs. NASCAR and the IHRA who are not 501(c)organizations is a bit compelling. The complaint explores the underlying purpose and motives of these racing organizations (and other org's)and justifies their point of why the NHRA is different enough to qualify for 501(c) status. Although some of their arguments appear a little weak, their over arching philosophy might just give this complaint the traction they are looking for.

Two additional points:

1.) What has happened in the past? Has the NHRA been down this road before? Essentially, it would be interesting to read the NHRA's perspective of their org classification.

2.) Who is to gain from this complaint? Essentially, there should be a 'motives check' on the initiative.

Overall, a good read!
