How to use the search function

This is one thing that baffles me, folks having trouble with the search function...simply typing "air cleaners" [minus the quotation marks] into the default drop down search returns 200 results, which is the maximum display amount...heck, simply using the default setting on the advanced page [newer than 1 week] returns 27 posts?
