depends on the OD of the sleeve, how much wall thickness of parent block and thickness of sleeves.
my late model 053 was overbored and big od sleeves installed. They pushed the limit. it can be repiared and still usable but i would not go this far for over 600 hp. 052s wrere not as good quality castings as the newer 053s... link below will make you nervous.... 053 block but you will get the idea... I have learned a great deal about both generation blocks past few years... i know of 2 racers with 052 blocks(one 1/2 filled other no fill) over 800hp no failures....a can am in same area power wise... also heard of alcohol funny car with an 053 welll over 900 hp. personally anything over 600 with a052 would be pushing the issue in my book. http://www.supercarraces.com/phpBB3/...?f=5&t=714 Ryan car build too http://www.supercarraces.com/phpBB3/...?f=5&t=476 |
