Default 1970 Z28

I’m selling my 1970 Z28 that was the car in the “ouch, my poor Z28” topic on this site. This is a rust free Z28 that has very rare options. The LT1 engine was at its peak in 1970 and only in the Z28 and the few COPO Novas could it be ordered with a special high performance M40 transmission. This is the only solid lifter small block combination that was ever available with an automatic transmission. On top of that, this car has the factory installed 4.10 rear end. With shift points approaching 6,500 RPM and a 4.10 rear end, it’s amazing that its original driveline lived at all.

This car also has the Rally Sport option that was factory installed. It still wears its original black vinyl top that is in wonderful condition. The engine is original with a build date of 04-15-70 and the VIN is stamped by the oil filter. The stamp and broach marks are original and the casting date of the block is 04-14-70.
The transmission has the original CW tag and VIN on it and is dated 03-10-70. The rear has the original BO code on it and is dated 03-03-70.

The Norwood trim tag reflects the Z28 option. This Z28 spent most of its life in Florida and is rust free. The interior is original and in wonderful condition. The car has the original engine, transmission, rear, carb, alternator, distributor, and heads. It does have a smog pump, but it has an incorrect diverter valve. All the glass is correct including the OEM replacement windshield dated January 1970.

The car has a brand new Garner exhaust system, reproduction Goodyear Polyglass tires and a new set of radial tires. This car is for sale at $31,500. [email protected]

Here’s a link to current pictures of the car.
