Further detail re Gorries & Golden Mile Chev
Gorries Downtown Chevrolet was operating at least as early as 1945 on Gerrard Street East in Toronto, owned by the Seitz family (not Sykes, my mistake). Dealer code was indeed 95526; I also have Golden Mile paperwork showing the same code. 'Bert' Seitz owned Golden Mile Chev-Olds until 1974, when ownership transferred to manager Brian Rowntree. Golden Mile operated until 2007, when it closed down. Toyota built a new dealership on the property in 2008.
