Marlin's cheap, I'll go 10.00
The reproductions are not good. I've seen ones like you have there go up towards 1k. Hard to say in this market now. BTW, nice magazine article on your build. Very cool. |

Hi Folks. Honestly, I'm overwhelmed with responses, particularly PM's regarding these two pieces. This afternoon, I dug out the mat(s) -- front and rear section and removed the steering wheel from the column, and then shot pix. I'll post those a bit later. Once I get that done, what I'd like to do is to respond to everyone in order, beginning with the many people who sent me private messages. To be honest, I know the situation with the floor coverings. I see the repros at shows and in magazines and the fit leaves much to be desired. My OEM mat fit is crisp -- it looks like the factory almost poured it into place. This mat is nicer than the one I sold before, and that one, went for just north of $1400 USD, and that was several years ago (even with the tear in the back section). I don't wish to plunder anyone's pocketbook, but on the other hand, I'd like a fair price too, hence the initial "what's it worth" question.
Again, thanks for the responses. I only think its fair to follow up one by one in the order I received questions. Wayne |

Personally, I'd keep both of them. This way, should you ever want to change the car back, it'll be no problem. Then again, I don't want to anger all those who pm'd you.

Here's the pix; floor mat front & rear first. This is "raw" right out of the Nova. Not cleaned other than a vacuum job and a quick damp cloth wipe down when I shot photos a month or so ago. The tear on the passenger side rear measures approximately 8-inches and I think it can be repaired. Otherwise, absolutely pristine. Not the detail shots on the driver's footwell:
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Steering wheel is next. I made a mistake. There are two cracks on the shroud at the left horn button. There's another crack on the right side of the shroud. Balance of wheel is perfect. Like the mat, nothing has been cleaned or detailed. It's right out of the car. I think the tear hurts the value a bit, IMHO. I've fixed small tears with a bicycle tube repair kit - with some really good rubber cement. However, an 8 incher is a bit tougher. If it were me, I'd attempt a repair b4 selling. Nice front mat though, that's the difficult one to obtain.
