Default Re: YENKO TALKED

First of all, if there is a need to point fingers, blame me, not Marlin, for the special paint car being on the list.

Second, within the Super Registry, the "special paint" car is listed as a L-78 Yenko Nova, with several notations, about the special paint and other options, paperwork, ownership history, and yes..the work Warren D. did at his shop at a later date. The current owner was well aware of all of this information before he agreed to purchase it.

Third. Now to the list and other '69 Novas. If another L-78 Yenko Nova with paper came up, I would want to add it as well. Why? We know of nine 1969 Yenko sold Novas. A discussion on here indicates that at least one of the cars on the list was not converted, reliable sources say another one, maybe two, were not converted, so possibly 1/3 of known Novas were not converted. Now factor in that Vince Emme says only cars sold by other dealers within the Yenko network were converted, then maybe the list of known converted cars is even smaller. No one seems to have a problem with the 37 list (Vince’s), even though it is pretty obvious some of the cars were unconverted. But what can we do with out Vince's notes? Sort of like the 107 list for the ‘67s, we know not all were converted, but we have no idea for sure which ones, so we use the 107 list we have, with notations, which IMO is what we should be doing, and are doing, with the Novas.

Same with the ‘68s. As with the ‘67s and ’69 Novas, it is a known fact not all ‘68s were converted, so we use a master list, containing all of the ’68 VINs we have, then add notes.

I feel the sYc has done a tremendous service to our hobby in how we have handled the lists, sharing information, and most importantly, never compromising the lists, even for gain.
