Yesterday was the 66th anniversary of the D-Day landings in Normandy...probably the biggest single military event of all time...yet it was hardly mentioned in print or the web. How soon we forget those who have served and paid the price for the freedom we all enjoy.

I can't thank these families enough, who selflessly gave their loved ones choice and encouragement to do what they feel must be done. I believe you are either born with it or you're not. If it's your calling you go.

Our son came home from Afghanistan a year ago this past April. Last Friday, the Governor General gave out five Military Medals of Valour. Omemee was well represented. Mark McLaren wasn't so fortunate and his family accepted his award. Our son Dave, got his for some battle field heroics.
