I hope the Camaro and Challenger both go on diets. Cool cars, but heavy. The Challenger in particular needs to make the call to Weight Watchers.

The 4.6 wasn't as bad as some people tried to make it out to be, and actually in some respects was a very impressive engine. But for some reason, I'm not nearly as upset about it's departure as I was when my dearly beloved pushrod SBF bowed out after '95.

I agree that both need to trim some fat.

From what I have read...the Camaro was roughly 300 pounds heavier than the Mustang and the Challenger weighed more than the Camaro.

allthough i own ford/gm and mopar cars.
i give Ford the thumbs up all the time with the new muscle cars.
Camaro and Challenger still cant keep up with what Ford is doing with the GT 500 Shelby and now the 5.0 Mustang.
I am so glad i bought my 2007 GT 500 after driving both the new Camaro and Challenger's this year i still think Ford has the best Muscle cars of today with there Mustang.
I have a 1970 Challenger R/T S.E. but i just cant get myself to like the modern day Challengers, there just to big and fat looking and the Camaro looks to much like the new Challengers.

It's kind of amazing that the Mustang weighs close to 4,000 pounds and it's the lightweight member of the group. I don't think the typical 409 Impala weighs that much.

It's a far cry from my '88 LX notch. Sans engine and trans, I think two decent sized guys could pick that thing up and run down the street with it.
