I don't know about palacial, but we bought a larger home because of all of the friends and relatives who will no doubt be staying with us. So far, one of Claire's co-worders will visit in July, and her uncle will be visiting later in the year.

Hey, congrats Rick! Welcome to the Phoenix area.
I too will be moving back at the end of June and I share your sentiment. I was slightly sick of the heat when I left, but after 7 years on the East Coast and this past winter and current spring, I'll take the heat. And yep, just wait 'til everyone starts piling in your home. My family had the same thing--constant visitors until pretty much everyone eventually moved to the area.
