If they don't clear the rockers you can alway's use some aluminum valve cover spacers. Have the on my car with the same valve covers shown(except mine are black ) & they look really cool.

The roller rockers will hit the drippers and break them off. thats what happened to mine.

Yep, and they're kinda' rare with the drippers still in them. Use spacers and keep the drippers on such a nice set.

Never heard back from RARE Z/28, so these appear to still be available.

Sorry Joe for not getting back right away! I have been putting in crazy hours getting ready for my construction season. As long as the valve covers will clear the rockers using a thicker gasket I will take them. They are not for me, they are for a friend and that is why I am asking. Thanks Joe.

Sorry RARE Z/28, I tried to send you a PM but your box was (and still is) full and your e mail is not listed in your profile. When I didn't hear back from you for several days I assumed you decided against them. Quite honestly am not sure they would have worked for your friend without modifying/removing the dripper tabs, or by using cast aluminum spacers anyhow.
They have since been sold pending payment.

Rich,
I almost did not respond to your comment however I somehow felt compelled. These valve covers were not for me as indicated, they are for a dear friend who has been trying to build his car for twenty three years. He has gone through some real tough times in his life and never had the time or money to complete the car. In addition to that he has always put everyone else in his life first! I was doing my best to try and help. Joe has always been very good to deal with. I have purchased parts from him before and always been very pleased with the description and purchase. This time I happened to be a little late. No worries, it is nobodies fault and we will eventually get a set to fit his chevrolet big block. Next time you offer advice lazy dick, consider that whom you are speaking to may not care to hear it! |
