Wilkerson mentioned the staging thing yesterday and made reference to heading to the 'Circus' when he won at Gainesville. Personally, I don't like it. Just another marketing fiasco for NHRA and Bruton. Fewer actual races and most likely more TV hype and sponsorship plugs.

I still go back and watch the earlier races I have on VCR tapes. Remember Diamond P on TNN? Those were the GOOD times when the coverage was about racing.

Yes, I was watching yesterday too. It was a little too much to watch at one time, but I enjoyed it. It did seem to go through the field a little quicker.

Amen!!! Steve Evans, McClellan and Bob Frey!!! That was the golden age of television coverage!!!!

I agree, it was too difficult to watch. They tried to explain the staging thing, but they failed to properly explain the blue light (was it pre-stage or staged when the blue came on?)
