Default 1968 M Camaro

I just got off the phone with someone I know that has a 1968 Motion Camaro,10k miles. The protecto-plate doesn't have a dealer name, and the car wasn't placed in service for about 13 months. Any opinions as to why? Thanks, Jim

I've had several cars that were "dealer purchased" and run on the C of O and only driven on a dealer plate. Some of them I bought new and didn't title for several years and some of them had been owned/driven by the new car dealership and used as a personal or family driver. Sales tax laws changed after states realized they were losing money because used car dealers weren't paying that tax on their personal driver or race cars.....

Every Baldwin protecto plate I have seen from 65-70 had either a dealer stamp or was handwritten in. That's not to say the book isn't original, but it seems weird they would leave it blank.

Is it a Motion Modified Camaro or a Baldwin Motion Camaro?
Hopefully some photographic history and a paper trail will accompany the vehicle.

Now's as a good a place as any to post that I was visiting with some of the Baldwin crowd yesterday and was reminded of a guy we knew that had a 69 Camaro with a 307 in it. He had Joel throw everything at it and was running low 12's. I was just getting ready to take my 307 to the dump!!

You'll sure sell a lot of speed parts to get a 307 into the 12's. I'm sure Joel loved guys like that!

I am sure what he threw at that car was probably half of what I just spent on an interior for the Nova!!

i think the car should be turned into a drag car since there is no proof it was a true baldwin motion car.
