That is correct, my car is a 05A car. With spoilers, and no D80 on the tag. But i had a camaro judge, say that my car, couldn;t of had spoilers from the factory. Because there was no D80 on the trim tag. I got the pics and the orginal owners statment to prove differnet. BBenny

Jerry makes a statement in his book about the Norwood plant not always putting the D80 on the trim tag, even when they came from the factory with the spoilers installed.

The D80 question is a research Topic on the CRG site.
We believe it to coincide with the production of the Firebird and thus the Trans Am at Norwood. The D80 on the Cowl TAG was for Fisher internal info... so why change from nothing to D80?
Norwood deck lids were punched for the Camaro by Chevrolet emblem holes on the passenger side close to the trailing edge. IF the car was spoiler equipped it was of no consequence to Fisher because the New holes (above the spoiler) were punched with a fixture and the lower ones were covered by the Camaro spoiler, not the case for the T/A spoiler.
The 69 T/A rear spoiler stood up off the decklid and would not cover the lower holes thus necessitating an external indication for bodies which would receive lids with no lower piercings.

Don't believe there are any cars prior to last week of May that received a D80 designation on the tag (even though the D80 option had been available all along). Virtually all the factory spoiler equipped cars got a D80 beginning in June. Remember rear spoilers installed at the dealer were not terribly uncommon, and those cars would not have D80 on the tag, and usually did not get the front spoiler.

My unrestored Z is a X33 D80 car. The jacking instructions in the truck are for a 69 Firebird.

Although uncommon I have seen that before, since later in the year the Norwood plant was producing both the Camaro and Firebird.

Have you ever looked to see if your deck lid has lower emblem holes?
