... it was subsequently determined that the car's VIN turned up on a stolen vehicle list dating back to the '70s! Car has been impounded by Scottsdale Police. Also mentions that the car may have an issue of having two different VIN numbers on it.

Is it too late for this or can can these auctions become credible?

Who, exactly, is "examining the provenance of every vehicle"

Why not start by listing VINs in the brochures so prospective buyers have some time to perform due diligence?

I wonder how Craig liked Davis' choice of words as personally I can't help but feel that statement especially the two words 'thoroughly' and 'every' will come back to haunt BJ in the future?.

I'm no lawyer but if I was I'd certainly be happy to have that statement available if representing a client who may have purchased a vehicle at BJ w/ any 'problems'..

Chris is exactly right on w/ his mention of posting the Vins in advance!!!

So as I read this Al Jardine gets a custom built Cuda, but is tired of the car after 3 years. Its gets a nice write up in a Mopar mag and then gets flagged as s stolen vehicle but turns out all is well in the end. Lots of publicity on this car!!! Just in time for prime time. If the car had two vins and the restorer put a new plate with the original vin back on the car. Is all this not come under Vin tampering?

Sounds like another "Baloon Boy publicity stunt".

The initial report says it is a Hemi Cuda Recreation. Is that a more kind word for CLONE ?
