Where is the date on the block?

I know he said the guy removed the VIN from the block and put his own number on it but I told my dad he might be able to do some kind or acid etching to bring the original # back.... Like the police do to get serial #s off guns that have been filed off.

So it is a ZL-1 block, there were only like 70 of them made right?
