JD is for a 69 Chevelle L78 4 speed...but the W in the VIN would indicate Nova application...the Novas were all JH motors...unless I'm missing something

the vin is down by the oil filter in the rough cast and its real hard to read.

Donnie, I think that answers the question...it is probably a Chevelle VIN then. I have never seen a Nova BB VIN in that location...perhaps it has an A or K instead of a W.
