The 67 shifter is a bit different. The 68-9 shifter will work with some massaging if I remember correctly. I think the trouble is when going into reverse.

That engine looks great...kinda reminds me of Kwhizz's Nova

I have a real '69 shifter handle that has been drilled for a newer comp plus shifter. maybe I should put that on?

sorry but Jason is not right on this one, there the same shifter 67,8,9. they rub from not being centered in the hole like I said, '67 consoles are unique and tight, if your tight on the left, its because the trans is left on the mounts, loosen up the trans push it hard to the pass side and have the other guy tighten it down, if thats not enough do the same to the cross member. thats what makes '67s so cool when you get it right and the slider glides back and forth as you row through the gears

here is a old pic a Hurst shifter in neutral in a '67 console and it did not rub.
