I ended the auction for the Endura bumper till i can %100 guarantee it's NOT very early Repop (I was not aware someone may have made them back in the late 80's )
Can anyone help with this ? I was told when i bought this bumper it was bought from Chevy dealership over the counter in the 70's/80's. We all work to hard for our money .I just want to be honest with THE PARTS I SELL and make sure you get what you pay for ... Thanks John (

I ended the auction for the Endura bumper till i can %100 guarantee it's NOT very early Repop (I was not aware someone may have made them back in the late 80's ) Can anyone help with this ? the real ones I have seen have a round 'plug' , maybe the diameter of a quarter, in the middle on the inside sticking out maybe a quarter inch or more..looks like where the rubber was filled and then cut from the mold. (this is all from memory)I will try and dig out an endura and and take a pic. later. I have only owned one repro. and that 'plug' was not there. hope that helps. max |

ok, so I dug out a real bumper...the round plug actually looks like about the size of a dime...and is cut very irregularly when the excess was trimmed off aparently...
that is how I always would tell a real from a fake...but that is based on owning and looking at more than a few real used and/or NOS units. But, like I said, I only owned one repo. and a buddy has a repo on his car and neither has this plug...the repo. on my friends car looks real nice though. Good Luck. |

my guess is repo bumper..the bolt holes extend outward on a real bumper beyond the level of the bumper itself...and the brackets on this real one I have here have another angle cut in them. A pic of the center of the bumper on the rear(side closest to the car) will tell all though.
I will try to post a few pics for reference later.. |
