I wouldn't have gone out the door in that weather either, but the wife is/was the dedicated type and would always try to get to work. I can just picture Tom's teeth chattering and knees knocking. One of my biggest regrets in life was driving the car in the winter salt. It took its toll on the body. Over all, it was the most reliable car that I have ever owned and not because it was babied. I think guys were still putting aftermarket dual point distributors in their cars will into the '70s. Mine always worked fine with the old '499 distributor so never saw the point in changing. I think John is right about the '62 Vette and 409 dual point setup.

Chevelleless after 46 years......but we did find a low mileage, six speed, silver 2005 Corvette. It will just have to do for now.
