If you're interested, most all '77 and newer F'Body Vins can be documented by GM Canada Vintage Vehicle Services regardless of where built/shipped when new..
Ask for George...he's a great guy who even frequents this little corner of cyberspace every now and then!.

I think the later turbine wheels were nice, but thats just my choice. As for the color,I have always loved that color big time.A friend had one years back,it was that color, with the Z stripes on the side and had a tan interior. When they are really mint, that color combo is soooo classy looking, but doesnt make the car look grandmaish.I have seen some that were clapped out and the color combo tends to add to the clappedoutness, but when they are mint,it is a totally different story.

Another awsome color combo on those cars is black with blue Z stripes and a black or dark blue gut. Some colors just work on some cars, that brown on those cars is like citrus green on a 70 camaro,it is a color that you wouldnt normally think of that really does something when it hits those lines.I call it "beef gravy brown" because the metallic makes it look like the sparkle of oil on top of a really hot ladle of beef gravy.Buy it.

Now that I see the brochure on that site, I remember now. I color keyed a lot of those wheels on Camaros back then.
I'm thinking of buying a 79 Z28. It's an original owner car. He pulled the engine about 10 years ago to freshen it up, and never got past that point. It's rust free and all there and reasonably priced. Just a towing bill to get it home, re-install the engine and have a fun car to drive.

Jim,

thanks for the links

What in your opinion is a "good" price for that ride?
I know... nobody have seen the car and nobody knows the technical condition...

it is hard to tell from the pics but it does not look like a car that was always in a garage ...

do a search on ebay to see what they are selling for

I have been looking for a late second gen Z, and for $6200, that doesn't look like much of a deal, sorry.

Do some craigslisting and I bet you find a nicer piece for a better price.

Jochen,

I was also looking for a 1979-1981 Z-28. It was the second car I owned back in 1981. I was a senior in high school and I traded my VW Rabbit for a slightly used 1980 Camaro Z-28, dark blue with baby blue stripes, cowl hood (functional), with dark blue interior. I had GT qualifiers (tires) all around, and a nice stereo, tape player, amp, and 6x9's. My girl friends could hear me coming down the road Man, I miss that car. Only car I really wish I would have kept all these years.

I like that style / generation of Camaro's.

Keep your eyes open, there are some nice ones out there! Oh, if anyone here in the states see one like I had be sure to let me know!

What about the Trans-Am sitting next to it?
