Seems like it was the thing to do back in the day by having a black grill, for my Z too had one when i purchased it.I just had to repaint it silver because to me it didn't look right.Like Sam said,it stands out a lot more.Didn't mean anything bad about your car Ed,it's a great looking car.

Superb Car!!! Drive it and enjoy it just the way it is without changing a thing! Of course, I may be a bit biased towards that color combo....

And Golly Gosh, if you get beat up about a little old black grill on your awesome ride, what will "they" say about my Day 2 69 Z.... with a black grill, wiremesh headlight covers, and hood locks too???!?? I feel so ashamed......

Well no matter what, some of "us" still really appreciate all your efforts and hard work. Thanks for sharing!

Great looking Z! I love the day 2 look, I have owned mine since 79 and here it is today. I just put 3.5 Torque Tech exhaust on it. I also put in the 3 pt Lakewood.

My favorite color combo. Awesome car, i hope you drive the wheels off it. Any pics of it in "as raced" condition?

Nice car! Even though this is a day 2 car, you should turn the air cleaner seal inside out and mount it properly, it will seal much better to the hood that way

Default Indiana Dreamin'

The car is out for the first time in six years. This is my brother-in-law, Dennis and my best friend, Greg (AZ lawyer) just out the other day Indiana Dreamin' and burnin'up the T/As! Greg was in for the ND vs. Michigan Game in Ann Arbor.

This my shop. The Z/28 was tucked in the back for the last six years.

It didn't take too much to get it up and on the road. Easy for me to say as Dennis spent two days wet sanding and buffing. After the carburetor rebuild, new headers, gas tank, exhaust, rear springs, steering box rebuild, valve covers, ignition wires, battery, radiator, steering wheel, Tach and gas gauge, assorted wiring... Well, I guess it did take some doing but look at the smiles on their faces...priceless!
