I think John took the dive and I am a huge Force fan.

I agree, and I've always been a Force fan. Corporate sponsorship being what it is due to our economy, well,.......... JFR has a huge payroll. Getting the AAA car in the chase can't hurt next year's sponsorship prospects.

But the Graham Light decision didn't surprise me a bit either. The NHRA is about $$$$$ and JFR brings them untold revenue from licensing. Had it been the likes of a Tim Wilkerson I think you'd see a different determination. Just my opinion.

As I re-read this, my feelings may be a bit unclear to some. I've been a JF fan for a long time but I absolutely DO NOT condone what he did Monday. I understand why he did it, but I feel he owes Castrol his BEST effort every time he stages that car, ... just as Robert Hight owes AAA. John shook up the teams to get better performance for the individual teams and their sponsors. That's acceptable, and ethical. What he did in the semis, in my opinion, is not! And I still contend that Graham Light's ruling would have been different if they were dealing with someone of lesser stature than JF.

Politics rears it's ugly head again.
