Gavin has certainly missed everyone this year. First LaHarpe now this. He will be full throttle in November.

Just walked in the door from an afternoon/evening of travel. At 12:30 AM I'm home from SCR12. Erik and I had a great time as always... and really wish the time didn't go by so fast. As usual I seemed like I never got to spend quite as much time as I'd like with all of my friends, but was happy to get to see everyone who was able to attend. If you didn't make it, I will tell you that it was another great show... This event is definitely the highlight of my summer every year.
Thanks for everyone who helped out with all the events and activities, from the racing at Gateway all day Friday, to the terrific banquet with a great presentation of the upcoming Yenko book by Bob McClurg, to the charity auction, the parking lot parties, indoor show displays, the videography by ARS productions, etc.etc. I had a blast, and wish it wasn't over already! Some really great cars this year, and a bunch that were SCR first-timers... Off the top of my head I can think of a handful of never seen COPO Camaros, a pair of Berger 69's, a few new Novas, an awesome 67 SS427 Impala, a slew of 5th Gen bad-boy Camaros from Nickey Chicago, a super rare 67 dealer-modified SD 427 Beaumont, a slick 69 Camaro pro-tourer, a 69 Yenko Chevelle, and a TON of old favorites including Yenkos, Motions, Harrells, Gibb, etc. The rain put a damper on the Gateway Camaro Club's outdoor show this morning, but a few die-hards braved the raindrops and showed up anyhow. Overall it was a great show as always. I'm headed to a hot rod show in Cumberland MD in the morning, so I gotta get some rest... Again, thanks to everyone who participated in SCR12, and thanks especially to Don and Judi Stowers, Rick and Annie, Dennis Cumby for all the GREAT surprises, Brian Henderson, Joe Swezey and the whole SCW gang, The Clary crew, Stefano Bimbi, Helen Gibb, Bob McClurg, and the dozens of others I talked to, met, and hung out with all weekend. I feel blessed to have such great friends. See ya'll next year! ![]() ![]()

The best we viewed on video was a 12.55et. with a low MPH because of clutch problems they are still working on. Great car. Amy has her sites set on a drop top some time in her future.

Does anyone know what ET's the Nickey 2010 Camaros ran ? Or the 2010 SYC Camaro ? [/ QUOTE ] Can't remember *exact* details, but the clutch in Stefano's car decided to be ornery Firday but I think he went high-11s with a big (120+) mph with a lot of wheelspin...the other Nickey's that ran were deep in the 12s with crazy wheelspin also. Dad actually shoe'd the '10 sYc Camaro to it's best time of the weekend, which was a mid-13 @ 108+, with no burnout and the shifter in 'D'...I tried shifting it manually with the paddles, but I'm evidently not smart enough to get the traction control and the rest of the "nanny" electronics shut off because it kept nosing over down the track...hopefully it enjoyed it's last days of life with it's stock 6.2L, because the next time we see the car it should hopefully be sporting 427 cubic inches... ![]() |

Here is some video from the strip for those who couldn't navigate the Travelpod site.
http://www.travelpod.com/travel-phot....wmv/tpod.html Thanks again for allowing us to be a part of SCR12. Being a Chevy family we love the event and all the folks we meet there. |
