Been there and done that back in the 70's. I had a perfect 68 BB that we tore apart and moded including cutting a hole in the perfect original paint SS hood to accomodate the new intake and breather! I was back in my home town for a class reunion and went out to the barn all of us used to pull our cars apart back in the day hoping to see the pile of OEM parts we pulled off and tossed in the corner. ALL GONE....

In some respects I enjoy seeing cars like this more than the perfectly restored trailer queens. Pictures like these are proof positive that most musclecars didn't stay as delivered for very long.
