Hey Jim,
Was that your Z11 in the pictures you posted? If so, do you have any close up pictures of the cowl before the restoration? Thanks! Tony Huntimer RaceHome.com |

Also ironic all the pics of it clear across are quite shiny. Being lacquer paint and that GM never colour sanded this area makes me wonder .

These have been posted B4, could not find the old thread.
![]() ![]() ![]() The blue car is a Norwood car, and I think the orange car is a photo that Charley Lillard posted. This whole process of cowl paint was not consistant, paint the sucker how you like it.. , and it was gloss laquer, and it did not have to be rubbed to be glossy, however it did not have that wet look like modern urethane. And after you done some of this is in order ![]() |

![]() ![]() [/ QUOTE ] The full width stripe color on top of the cowl like the style above began with the '69 models. The earlier Zs did not have it done in this style. The Norwood cars generally had the masked off style like you see in that '69 pacecar example and the LOS cars typically had the style which can be seen in Jerry's book. -Jon |

The Early 10D 69 Z I am doing had a white cowl top with pretty heavy white overspray misted down the face of the firewall...
The 04D 10 10 Original paint 69Z (William's Car) has a white cowl top as well.
