I have owned over a dozen Z10/Z11's and I have never seen a Norwood car done any way other than your picture above. have not ever seen a Van Nuys car without the seam to seam cowl covered with stripe color, but then I have not looked at every single car ever built ![]()

These are some shots from an 04D LOS special paint 68Z that was at Carlisle this year. Original paint and most components still on the car. Looks to me like the area under the cowl is all black gloss same as stripe color on this one as well.

Yes his book does and it shows that the cowl does not get painted from side to side. It shows the paint stopping well short of the pinch welds
