I'm the one here that had the 'dryer' house fire a couple years back..
Take note that it wasn't a lint/clog problem but actually the flexible plastic vent pipe itself that started the fire!. I always kept the filter and pipe clean and the fire-report came back noting the system was indeed clean and the pipe itself the culprit as after numerous years and heating/cooling cycles 'chinese plastic' becomes flammable!. Thankfully I had good insurance and it was a 'State Farm' policy as they truly went out of their way to make sure all was well.. The house is now redone and all is great although still waiting for a few more boxes and personal items to be returned.. Moral of the story is always use fixed rigid pipe dryer vent, not plastic...and yes it was an electric dryer.. ![]() ~ Pete
