First I want to note that the previous owner Eric Nurge is responsible for the restoration and preservation of the car. I first met Eric at a Bast Chevrolet Camaro show in 1994 and we struck up a friendship. I have full ownership history and factory documentation from day one. Eric purchased it in 1990 from his cousing who purchased it in 1982. At some point I will provide Bruce with a complete write up on the car. This is another well equipped L78 convert, and the only option added from how it left the factory is the addition of spoilers. Yes no gauges (orig owner added his own), but a rear defogger and a host of others...go figure

I remember getting that letter too. I had a 69 Caprice that had bad mounts. I took it in for the recall and I couldn't believe they didn't replace them but just added cables to the bad mounts to keep the engine from lifting. I got the car home and replaced the mounts and I think I still have those cables somewhere.

I bought an L78 69 Camaro convertible from the original owner back in 75. It was a STRIPPER, so much so the salesman at the dealer felt sorry(?) for him and "added" mats, a console and one other option. The original owner/buyer that ordered it said he only wanted the most powerful convert he could buy for the least amount of money ... but it too had a rear defogger when it was delivered. He said he was not going to pay for any of the extras as he had ordered it with NONE and he stood his ground. The dealer "gave" him the options.

When I say NO options that means it was the most basic L78 convert:

NO power steering
NO power top
NO radio
NO tinted/EZEye windows
NO spoilers
NO positraction
dog dish hub caps

a THREE speed manual trans

His logic was that it had all that power he wouldn't need extra gears ...

odd that two L78 converts would have the unusual rear window defog

anyone know of where the one I used to own is? Last seen on Woodward Avenue near Long Lake Road, the person we sold it to was a parking valet at one of the foo-foo restaurants in Bloomfield Hills and we sold it back in 75 or 76 ... white, white top, white standard interior, white wheels with dog dish caps
