Jacquie, You seem to have a thing for black on red cars. I have to admit, they do kind of grow on you...

Thanks Guys...I appreciate the kind words! My first true survivor car And yes, I do love that Black/Red combo!!!

She is a 1967 Chevelle SS 396/350hp 4-Speed. Documented with original invoice, magazine articles, and misc owner history. 20k actual miles with original drivetrain, paint, interior. The first thing the original owner did when he bought the car new was put headers and mags on it, mags are long gone but the headers are still there. I'm searching for correct manifolds. There has been a little piddling done in the engine bay over the years. She was the centerfold in a Muscle Car magazine in the mid 80's (have the magazine at home but don't recall the issue right now) but like 95% of all pin-up girls she had some fake stuff going on up top . The photo in the mag shows her sporting aluminum heads. But apparently as she aged she had those removed and returned to her original self. I suspect during that time is when she lost her original valve covers...I'm searching for correct those also. Other than the manifolds, valve covers, radiator cap, and a couple other small parts, she is 100% all #'s correct. The interior is all original and is nearly perfect. Everything works, even the clock, and the am/fm radio with rear speaker sounds awesome - really brings back the old days. The paint is original...and she is proof that pictures can and do lie. She doesn't look quite as perfect in person as she does here. The old laquer is chequing and she has had a few bumps and bruises along the way. But she will be keeping her original paint...gives her character and I like her that way! The undercarriage is unbelievably clean and totally rust free and is a testament to the fact that she was only driven her short 20k miles on dry sunny days. Here's a few more photos of her. And if anyone has or knows of valve covers or manifolds...please do tell!!

The factory lightweights...I have no idea what they were...I'm race car illiterate. But I'll find out. I'm going back and I'll get some pictures of those this time and find out what they are, as well as some of the other cars I missed!

Okay, I went ahead and called about the Mopars. Excuse my ignorance here...I'll do the best I can at relaying what he told me. There were two of them...

1)1968 Dodge Dart Factory Hemi Super Stock. Purchased new from Mattic Dodge who is still in business. Documentation all intact and also documented by Galen Govier. This car was never campaigned.

2)1965 Dodge Coronet Factory Hemi Light Weight. Sold by an LA dealer. Some of the drivers he named were Jimmy Clark, Doc Conroy, Tim DeFrank. Car was named Hemi Express. Retired in 1967.

Both cars are heavily documented real deal cars. He said it was believed there were only around 50 of them made. I didn't get any photos of them, but they were both in nice condition, not beat or dented up. I remember my friend that took me there was freaking out about all the correct nuts and bolts and stuff.

While I was visiting with the owner on the phone, he also mentioned a 70 Challenger he has. Documented and he said it was one of 13. I asked what made it that, and he said an Alligator top. Said it was on the fender tag. I never saw that car.

The guy has some really unusual and cool cars. Nearly all are documented and most are low mile and/or survivors. If you guys that were asking about the lightweight/superstock cars are interested, let me know and I am happy to put you in touch with the owner. He's a great guy and loves to talk about his cars. He is not actively trying to sell them but he's not living in the past either, he knows what they are worth. I didn't get fire sale pricing on the Chevelle I bought, but then where was I going to find another??? Truth be known...I would have paid more!
