I know on the GM side, that some dealers are balking and seeking legal advise concerning state franchise laws...not sure if the same is/isn't applicable in...from what I gather, a lot hinges on whether or not the parent company is in bankruptcy or not.

That's what I'm hearing too. GM is having to deal with individual State laws/statutes. Unfortunately, 'Size and Strength' will win out. If you're on the list, you're toast ....... eventually.
I have friends at two dealerships. One of them is expected to close. The other MAY be safe for now. It's relatively small, but they're in a good market area with little or no like-brand competition. We'll see.
