Have to wonder........

Attached is the official "Used Sellers Information Kit" you can purchase for $20 from the M.T.O. (Ministry of Transportation of Ontario) for any car that is currently for sale or that was sold in Ontario Canada. The M.T.O. is the equivelant of the D.O.T. in the U.S.A.

What is so strange is the history on this COPO Camaro....or should I say the lack of history.

First of all, notice the very obvious shortage of documented owners for this car. The Used Vehicle Information Package tracks all the previous owners of ALL vehicles back to the early 70's on all cars (if old enough).

It sure is strange that the history on this car ONLY goes back to May of 2003. Where are the previous owners names? Did this car appear out of thin air?
I am sure that Matt Langford (Collectible Autos in Hamilton Ontario) and Dave Matina who both happen to be the two "original" owners as per the MTO documentation can shed some light on this?

It gets even more interesting. Now look at who purchased the car from Matt and Dave. Richard English of Camaro Heaven. I am 100% confident that Richard surely knows the answer to the questions raised here. Please keep in mind that there HAD to be an owner or owners before Matt and Dave acquired the car?

I just hate to think what would happen if........

Regards

I have know Richard English for years. With me Richard has been COMPLETELY honest, very knowledable, professional and on top of that a real good guy and family man. Furthermore his restorations are absolutely fantastic.

I live north of this dealer in Portland and have seen more "news" on this dealer than any thing I have seen before.

Check out this thread - near the bottom

I guess with the internet these days, the facts seem to come out on these cars.

"This Pacecar was "prepared" by Chev Connection/Mark Young.

That should tell you everything you need to know."

I have purchased several cars from Mark Young. All were represented for exactly what they were. It is obvious that L88 owner and CamaroNOS have some type of personal vendetta against Mark. It is a shame they they do not have the guts to look Mark in the eye and resolve. Most of us are tired of hearing this slander. Mark works his tail off, takes risks few on this board would ever dream of taking, accurately represents what he sells, and has to put up with annonyomous keyboard jockeys envious of his success slandering his good name. That sucks!

Im not on hear to bash but carguy your kidding right? Just look at the facts. There are numerous cars he has misrepresented and plenty of guys that got burnt by him. He sells "PRETTY CARS" to guys at Barrett that dont know the differance. Look at the Blue LS6 Convertible he sold at Russo as a real car, Now your not going to tell that was a real car too? I know he has had some legit good cars pass through his hands but for the most part I wouldnt want anything to do with a car he has had..

I have no personal stake in this. My passion is Fox Mustangs, and the Chevrolet is stuff is a sideline that happens to interest me. That said, even I have heard of this guy previously, and none of what I heard has been good.

A few years ago, I went with a buddy to check out a "numbers matching" driver quality 69 Z/28 that a guy he knew had just purchased from Mark. It was absolute fabricated B.S. Even I could tell as soon as he opened the hood that it was a fake tag. The details were all wrong. The engine was dated a month after the build date on the tag. The intake date was way off. It had a 68 Muncie in it. Wrong hole for the shifter. The best part was the leftover bits of the a/c system that had been taken off the car at some point. And that's not the only bulls**t car I've heard of that came from him.

Like I said, nothing personal, never met the guy, just my experience.

These risks………….well……………..

I cannot vouch for Mike Young down in Portland, just seen his name around and wanted to reiterate what had been posted other places.

So, I have no issues with Mike, just wanted to inform what others have posted here.

BTW, do your two cars have original trim tags too?

Z16 #24

http://www.chevelles.com/forums/arch.../t-251663.html

"Also, for kicks I worked through the trim tag decode on chevellestuff.com. Maybe that guy can help solve the mystery "U" code on option group 4. Didn't Z16 have a one-off rear drum brake that was larger diameter or something like that? Maybe that's it, it is attributed to 65 only, so it would be fitting.. The front suspension and the rearend was different. Basically they were full size Chevrolet parts adapted by GM to a Chevelle (not a simple bolt on).

Also, the VIN stamp on the block all crooked like that, is that normal? According to nastyz28.com decoder, that IX suffix is a '67 only deal. Seems like that engine may be fishy.Engine may be fishy but IX is the correct suffix for a 65 Z16. I have seen known original engines with stamps that looked as bad or worse than that one. I would need a better picture and more information before I would make a judgment; better yet a personal inspection."
