I just went down to the Chevy dealer by my job to see the new Camaro they have on display.Apparently many dealers got what looks to be a promo car that wasnt supposed to be displayed until May 6th,but they have them out on the lot anyway. They are 1LT's,red with black interior cars, with the 20" wheels and all the upgrades{except the V6}.The sticker says $28k,but there is a second sticker that says something like "Market adjusted value" on it with a $35k price. The dealer says thats a good deal since some other dealers are going up to 12K over sticker......

Red RS 1LT 6spd only $28,000. Salesman says the dealer policy is not to exceed MSRP.

Rich, where are you located? I am in the land of the $4.00 bottle of water(The Hamptons), is gouging worse elsewhere?

I just went and looked at Gary Lang in norhtern Ill. They had a sticker next too the window sticker that showed a $1000 dealer mark up or add on. What a joke. We gave them how much money. The car had some fit and finish issues and the interior was a little weird. The knobs for the heat and a/c stick out far and just do not look right. I am a chevy guy but I think I would rather go with a dodge challenger. They got it right.

I havent seen any Camaro's on lots here yet, But the Dodge dealers are making good deals on Challengers, I was thinking of buying a SRT I liked it untill I got in it, I am 6'2 and had the seat in back position to drive it and it was 2 inches from the rear seat well no new Challenger for me, I have 3 kids that will not work. Bummer... Now the Camaro return I am not sure on, when they were still on the lots they were not a real big seller, I did purchase a new 95 Z28 and it was a fun car and had some room in it with good power, I will have to wait and see one in person, if I can get the kids in it, it might have to be the next new car.

"Market Adjusted Price" is a nice word for "GREED". After they announced the demise of Pontiac yesterday (a very sad day that actually puts a knot in my throat) and the upcoming closure of 42% of dealerships, I can't believe they have the nerve to price gouge ANY new car. $35K for a V6 car is absolutely ridiculous. I had a bad dealership experience on a car and it was the first thing I would think about everytime I looked at the car for a long time.

LOL...I know the feeling...we had a '98 Malibu that was probably *the* most reliable vehicle I've ever owned, but I still get po'd talking about it because of the way we got snookered at the dealership when we bought that car...the kicker is those douchebags had the b@lls to send us a "satisfaction report" with a note instructing us how to fill it out favorably!

I work with these characters every day...it never ceases to amaze me how short sighted they are Most dealers who floor plan with GMAC are at the max....no additional credit, which means their ability to add inventory is hampered greatly. When these cars sit around for awhile incurring floor plan expense the prices will soon come down...it is a shame to see this kind of thing, but it is par for the course

I think dealers are trying to hold gross on the one's built before the shutdown. It might have worked if they weren't so fugly.
