Mark,
OK, I have almost the twin to this engine. I was going to list it on Ebay but will hold off until yours is gone. Let me know when it sells. Thanks, Jason |

That is the second time that we have had the same motor. Remember the 1971 dated L78 with the 1970 engine code you had for sale a couple of years ago? I knew it was real because I had almost the exact same thing in my garage the year before. It just goes to show not everybody knows everything about these parts. Thanks for waiting because it might be a little harder to belive that these are rare when there are two for sale at the same time. You could buy mine and corner the market on these.

Thanks Rob for the good word and thanks Jason for the offer. I lowered the buy it now price on E-bay to $2595.00 and I am serious about making a great deal to somebody on this site because it would be so neat see it in somebody's car when done.

Mark,
Your engine just got a bit more hard to find. Mine sold to a local buyer today. Who knows what engine we will both have next. The sky is the limit! Its yout turn, go find a ZL1! Jason |

If it helps I found the cam that came with this motor and the original standard size TRW forged pistons that were in the motor before it got machined. I hate to see this thing just sit in the garage and not get used.

New price is $1,995.00 and I have done most of the machine work at one of the best shops in the country. At this price you could build this motor with modern pistons at a lower compression ratio than the factory 12 to 1. Get some 990 castings on e-bay in the $600.00 range and you should be able to build this motor for less than $4,000.00 That is cheaper than a rebuilt NOS motor and it will be done right the first time.
