Alan I agree with Sam about the shifter. You guys seem to have the day-2 look dialed in. If you go that direction take a look at the 15x4 slot wheels that are offered by wheel vintiques for the fronts.
I am trying to figure out the SS emblem in the center of the steering wheel. I notice some of your cars have a little square frame around the SS emblem and some do not. Was there a change from 69 to 70 or which one is right? Mark Sheppard |

Sammy I think the hole was for a Vertigate, not a super shifter. I have a supershifter now in my red deuce and it didn't take much change. V-gates took a BIG hole.
Most rear shackles seem to be home made. These obviously are store bought. I've not seen that mark/impression before on anything that I can remember. On the question about the SS emblem, the one on the blk car is original to the car. The one on the H/O Nova isn't. It had a Grant wheel on it when we got it. I'm thinking the emblem on the H/O car came from Wayne Bushey. I'm not sure why the difference, just that the one from the blk car is an original if that helps you. |

The grain on the shroud is different in 69 vs. 70 as well. Some 69's also had a grain texture on the face of the rim, but none of the 70's did.

It kinda funny what different eyes see in regards to those shackle stampings! When I first looked at them, I seen two opposing "P"s facing away from each other and when I looked at a second time, it clearly became an "S" for superior. I remember working at an auto parts store a long time ago and selling Superior Shackle Kits.

Mark, I believe you are right about them being Superior. I saw a "P" before an "S" too.
