That car looks like its been painted to me which would take away the survivor status to me. Wrong stripe also.

[/ QUOTE ]

According to the original owner, the stripe was added. It's a tape stripe that can easily be removed. But the paint is original. I am curious how you can tell by the photo that the car has been painted . After 26 years of owning and restoring cars, this car is one of the finest originals I have ever seen. And I own a very nice original survivor and have had several phenomenal originals through this shop.

[/ QUOTE ]Im a painter by trade and have been in the body buisness for over 25 years and have had at least 20 survivor cars including a few black ones and ive never seen one that glossy. Now maybe it is, I would have to see it in person to really look at the orange peel and other notes that I have from over the years but its just my opinion that its not original paint. Btw That stripe might not be as easy as you think to get off. I removed a tape stripe from one of my original paint cars and it left a mark from where it was. Buffed it and it wont come out. Also not trying to be picky but sometime in this world were everybodys cars are low mileage. What happened to the T3 headlamps? 25k miles they should be there. Anyway it looks like a nice car to buy if you want it. I think 35 is high also myself. What kind of money is he asking if you dont mind mike?

Don:

Believe me, the paint looks way better in the picture than it actually is. As a matter of fact, take a look at the picture I posted of the cowl stamp and you will get a better indication of the paint condition. As for the lamps, they were replaced by the original owner with higher intensity beams as he was older and didn't see well at night. The originals, I believe are in the box I remember seeing them there. I will get the car from where I keep it and take some more photos. The original stamped belts, upper and lower rad hoses and the original plugs are in that box as well.

There is what appears to be a VERY nice '67 Caprice 396 4-speed numbers matching with a $26K BIN on ebay if that gives you some perspective. Good luck, BCD.

I own it already. I just couldn't resist. I really want to keep it though as you just don't find anything like this too often. The older I get the less tolerant I am of cars that are perfumed pigs or handed around junk. But like everyone else I have a space problem so I might have to let it go, unless I can sell something else.

Want to buy some really nice Mopars??

My car is exactly the same way....just ask anyone who's seen it in person. Real world, the paint is just so-so; in pictures, it looks great
