Hay Russel, don't feel bad, my old man never owned a V8 untill I joined the Navy, he thought a Chevy 6 was the greatest thing since sliced bread.
He would let me drive the 60 VW ( all 36 hp )in the empty lot next to our house, I never once had a driving lesson from him, one day after washing the Bug, he said go ahead and take it around the block. I think I was 15.All the other kid's in our hood made fun of us cause we were the only ones without a cool car. Mike ![]() |

It's good to see some kids today get the feel of what it was like to drive these cars back in the day.I was a 17 yr. old myself when my brother showed me the ropes on my 72 Nova SS by driving around our subdivision before i could go on the road.
