Time to update this story. The restoration has begun, and while these photos were taken on a cell phone, they give a good idea of what is going on.
  That knob looking thing in the middle is a factory option cigar lighter.   The firewall is remarkably rust free. Compared to those guys, we are all proper gentlemen who lift our pinkies when we sip our tea. Talk about a tough crowd.
