I'm guessing the generally accepted filter for the '70 and earlier is the square mesh vs. the expanded metal.

You surely seem to be a knowledgeable fellow based on what I've read from your posts, but, I'll respectfully point out you've stated yourself that you are 'guessing'.

Exactly Mark. Not in any way questioning you. It was just a quasi response to Randy's query. No offense intended.

Dennis, I didn't sense any disrespect from you at all. My apologies if it came across that way. I was just quoting you to make a point. Man oh man, it is a never ending job trying to discover all the running changes and really pin them down. I wish I would not have been born such an anal retentive.

Good point Bill. Without the anal retentive type (admittedly, I suffer this syndrome as well ), how would we garner all the information this site has to offer.

Mark, NEVER (OK, so I shouldn't use that word ) give up the anal characteristic. Your passengers ride more comfortably knowing you're there, and it carries over into our hobby.

Speaking of that, Jeff Skiles has been my First Officer on several occasions at US Airways. He is a great guy and a great pilot. He and Sully did a pretty job last month, didn't they?

Mark...it was not my intention to enter into a pissing match with you, I was just wondering where you came up with your info on this filter. I'm sure that you are a very nice guy too but the fact remains that Charley's 1100 mile un touched 1970 Z28 survivor car has this very filter element in it, and thus is contradictory to your statement of not being correct for pre 1974 vehicles..at any rate I wish I would have read this thread sooner, I would have bought it! Great item man!!!
