Clearly, the BE rear is a great bonus, but to the car.... if the 6k tach, b/b heater core, and 15" wheels, are all original to the car, it can only be one of two thing. 1. a Yenko with COPO9737 Sports car conversion package, or 2. an L78 that Yenko ordered to convert to 427, and never got converted.
If the tach and heater core are original, and the tire sticker is not, it's probably an L78. If the tach and tire sticker are original, but the heater core is not, it's probably a Z/28.

If none are original to the car, well then, it could be almost anything.

With the exception of the last one, all of the other possibilities are good, but of course, scenario 1 is the best. (I personally think scenario two is the coolest)

For 68, if it had the copo sports car package 9737, the trim tag will tell if it IS or NOT. Can we get a pic of the trim tag?

I just re-read the post - and the trim tag was in the pics....so, from what i can see, its not a 9737 copo car nor a yenko or non converted car. At least based on the data we have about yenko's and non converted cars.

Ed, Are you talking about a Mirror Magic tag? Can anyone explain why the Yenko cars got the special tag? What others got the tag?

Great score. Looks to be all original and intact.

Please post the casting date and assembly date for the posi unit.
From your picture the assembly date will probably be stamped on the counter balance boss like the one I have attached.
The casting date will be by the crosspin bolt head.

Thanks in advance.
Eric
