that says it all:

"For some categories, sellers can also accept:

Bank-to-bank transfers (also known as bank wire transfers and bank cash transfers)

Checks

Money orders"

not aware of anyone INSISTING on PayPal only that is a successful seller

Any seller can accept checks or money orders. They just can't put it in their listings. The details can be worked out after the auction ends.

I'm only stating what Ebay has stated its policy to be. They said they were going to a paperless policy as of Jan 15th. Now if Paypal is offered as (at least) one method to pay (which is now dictated). If I can't mention money orders are accepted in the ad, what's to prevent a buyer from clicking the "pay now" with Paypal button right after he wins the auction?? I have no time to tell him to use a money order, and I just got 2.9% ripped off from me from Paypal for it's computer to spend a second making the transfer!
