Now that just plain sucks! I see/hear it time and time again. We pay premiums for years and years and then something happens that is completely out of our control and they stick it to us. I cannot believe they got away with not covering the explosion since they never formally terminated you. I guess that would be your word against theirs. Like some women, can't live with them, can't live without them.......

Guess, I should/could start a NEW thread, but HOW DO you insure misc, extra, loose auto parts stored inside your home, attached garage.

Every homeowners company I've asked told me NO, and auto insurance companies will only cover together/complete cars.

Thanks

Chuck - your answer as to why they don't cooperate is because they do not have to . How many insurance companies have you seen go under in the latest down turn ? How many have asked for bail outs ? They are very fat and apparently insulated from the poor economy and don't feel the need to address customer needs on such trivial matters which may affect their bottom lines.

Ahhhh, now that feels much better!!

If you have Collector car insurance on a vehicle(s) ask if they offer spare parts coverage, they usually give a set limit and you do not have to schedule each item. This affords some coverage. A standard Homewoner policy will not go near this stuff

Well I just did a thread about this and my time run out when I went to post it was canceled, I get a bit hot headed when I think of it! I will make a new one tomorrow and copy and paste it, I have been in business my whole life, I had a garage keepers policy on my home with inventory, on top of the other policies, it should have been covered they took their money. I will stop now or I will start to rant, and I do not want to steal from the thred this is another topic we will save it for that.

Oh, they will be asking for bail outs, as a matter of fact I think Prudential already has their hand out. I'd love to tell you about about when we put 1 million dollars of business on the books with that company for their auto home products and they invited us to their home office in NJ and the then vice president kept us in his office for three hours talking about what a great job we were doing and then said "oh, gosh. look at the time, gee we missed lunch at the cafeteria, maybe next time you come we can have lunch their. What a cheese-dick, he didn't wanna buy us lunch. I should have pulled that crappy argyle sweater over his head and kicked his ass down a flight of stairs (look, I was in New Jersey, thats almost acceptable business negotiations there) I'd say more but I do not wish to get sued. They (Prudential) set up a whole distribution system to get there numbers up so they could sell it ( to a large mutual company, whom I will not mention, that is interested in life, the pursuit of happiness and LIBERTY). I won't mention that company by name but it is also a turd and will NEVER be publically owned as there would be way to much scrutiny to the way that crap operation is run.

I am an insurance agent and the industry and the companies are full of idiots. Insurance agents and car mechanics have alot in common, the cost of entry into either field is cheap, and either the guy knows his trade and gives a "s" or he doesn't. I've had work done on my cars were I wanted to kill the mechanic and I've had work done that is beautiful.

Insurance is alot the same way, depends alot on the agent, if they know what they are doing and if they care. It also depends ALOT on how much risk you want to accept and how much you wanna pay in premiums.

Let's try and not change this thread to a rant, I made a remark on something and it is going out of text.
