Cool pictures Jerry, I believe the corvette was Johns first race car and he was about 65 when he started racing.

Probably about right.....maybe a little earlier, born 1917. I remember the car at 75-80 in the early 1970s. I think John bought it new if I'm not mistaken. Power windows were so cool back then. No race cars had them!
Another cool story. We were at a divisional race at Richmond Dragway, late 1970s. John broke a half shaft and we found a local military guy to open his shop and let John repair it. John was also a military guy and that opened the door for us on a weekend. Jerry |
