[ QUOTE ]
I stopped watching NASCAR when they started slowing down better cars... that's just bad business.... go build a better car and come back... the desire to innovate is what fuels racing... then the "the ones who believe they are the reason for it's being" think they know what the manufacturers need... it becomes all about limiting everyone to make them equal... making everyone equal SUCKS AND IS NO FUN!!! [/ QUOTE ] I beg to differ with you opinion of slowing down the cars. Banning the Hemi in 65 stands out as a very early version of your statement. I'm guessing there are prior attempts to slow down competition but that one rings loudest to me. ![]()

I would say "equalizing" the brands instead of slowing them down put a bigger knife in NASCAR. Plus they don't even remotely resemble stock cars and haven't in 20 years!!

It would of been amazing to see where the Dawsonville boys (Elliotts) would of taken speed at superspeedways. Once the Restrictor Plate was implemented they were just part of the herd after that.
