Chickened out on leaving the orig oil and filter on the car, drained the oil and changed the filter. Obvious from paint on edge of drain plug gasket that pan was painted with plug installed.

Also have a coolant leak at radiator somewhere so I removed it. Fan clutch.

[/ QUOTE ] I had to register to say two things. 1st CONGRATS ON THE FANTASTIC FIND! 2nd Please tell me you used an oil that is high in zinc. Most modern oils do not have enough zinc to protect a flat tappet cam. I would hate to see a cam lobe go flat and possibly destroy that engine. This is the main reason why I joined. I am THAT concerned about that oil you used.
