Don just sent me these with this explanation..
Rick, this filter was removed from a 1970 L-78 Camaro that showed 500 miles on the odometer.I personally took it off the engine in 1988.A friend of mine had bought the car which had been converted to a race car.The L-78 had been removed when new and replaced with a L-88.I replaced all the race parts with the stock original parts which had all been saved. The oil filter was removed as we had the engine disassembled cleaned and re-assembled.The oil filter was stuck so tight that the only way I could get it off was with a punch through the body and a hammer. This was prior to the time when replacing an oil filter was not a big deal.If I only knew then....................... Take note of the embossed wording on the bottom of the filter.Air filters weren't the only ones with this verbiage. Don ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
