Here is Ricks explanation from the other thread. I think it backs up the originality of Charley's

"I think Mark's correct in his original description about this.
True,they did use cross mesh as well as diamond mesh filters on several assembly lines during the same time peroid,but those that started "Best Way To Protect Your Engine-Replace With AC Type A212CW" were what AC was producing during the late 1960's into early 1970's.
Sometime during 1974,they dropped the words "Best Way To",and adopted the shortened version that Marks shows.
I talk among other parts hounds about these when they come up for sale,and we reference them Best Way or NOT Best Way filters.
I consider Charleys filter the original assembly line installed filter,and Marks correct for a 1974 or later assembly.
That yellowing is the original capture oil they saturated these with back then."
