My '70 429 Cobra - First car I had that electrically unlocked the seat backs when you opened the door -
not ever reading the manual it took me a while to figure out what that noise was!

Here's a link for a 70 Falcon:

Wierd, never knew they were essentially Torinos.

[/ QUOTE ]

That actually looks like a 1970 1/2 Falcon. I have one myself. My great aunt bought it brand new and gave it to me back in the early 90s. My car is a light blue, blue interior, 250 c.i. 6, auto. Dealers actually stuck torino emblems on them back in the day to get them to sell, because they didn't move as fast as normal torinos. My car had both the falcon and torino emblem on it. It still has most of the original paint and my great aunt never changed anything on the car's exterior as long as she had it.

Andy's right - they're properly 1970.5. The 1970 Falcon is a compact car.

Friend of mine who worked for Ford ordered up a new 70-1/2 Falcon, dark green, 429 SCJ, drag pack. Removed all emblems.Car would snap your neck shifting with auto trans. raced it for 2 years, sold it to a guy who wrapped it around a pole 4 weeks later. When he first took it to the track, NHRA tech couldn't figure out how to class the car. Can't remember what times he was running, but was running Stock.

Actually, a T-37 with the 455 HO would be more along the same lines because it didn't have any sporting pretensions, unlike the GT-37, which was Pontiac's version of the Road Runner.

I seem to remember ( yeah I'm old ) that the line up was 6cyl 350/2bbl 400/4bbl and a 455 4/bbl. So the GT was just a dress up ?
